Located far north in the Canadian Wilderness, Prairie Creek Airport is situated next to Prairie Creek in the Northwest Territories, Canada. The airport is private and operated by Canadian Zinc Corporation. Its primary role is to serve as a supporting base for local mining operations at the adjacent Prairie Creek Mine, which is also operated by Canadian Zinc Corporation. The remote airport features a single 914 meter (2998 feet) long gravel runway, it has two windsocks and no supporting navigational aids; approach and departure are strictly under VFR conditions.
The airport’s GPS coordinates are: 61°33′53.0″N 124°48′54.0″W (61.564722, -124.815000)
The very remote location of this unique airport provides a visually breathtaking approach and departure above the Canadian Wilderness. The steep surrounding terrain and unpredictable weather associated with mountainous terrain do not leave much margin for error, and this, coupled with the short, just under 3000 ft gravel runway is likely to keep even the most experienced pilot on their toes. The airport does not feature an actual control tower, and prior permission is generally required to land there, except of course in case of an emergency. Air Tindi, headquartered at Yellowknife Airport in the Northwest Territories, Canada, and the operator of the largest fleet of active Dash 7 aircraft, is a primary operator of flights in and out of Prairie Creek Airport, most frequently using their Dash 7 aircraft. The flight from Yellowknife to Prairie Creek typically takes just over an hour in the Dash 7, and its much-lauded STOL capability makes it a uniquely capable cargo and passenger aircraft for the journey to this remote, short runway location.
Prairie Creek Airport sits at an elevation of about 900 m (2950 ft) and is surrounded by mostly alpine like evergreen forest and mountainous terrain. The runway surface consists mainly of gravel, and the 914 x 30 meter (3000 x 100 ft) gravel runway is designated RWY 14 / RWY 32, with high terrain towering over the adjacent eastern and western areas. There is a small parking area located at the southern end of the runway. In the real world the airport is generally open from 1 May until 31 August, of course there are no such restrictions other than the weather in the simulator. Due to the likelihood of persistent snow on the ground even in early May, there are snow markers at the runway edge.
Tioman Airport ( ICAO code : WMBT ), also known as Pulau Tioman Airport, serves Tioman Island, a pearl in the South China Sea, just off the Malaysian Coast and around 150 km north of Singapore. Peaceful and idyllic ... one would think. When it comes to flying into Tioman, however, things get interesting... very interesting! Forbes lists this airport as being among one of the most dangerous in the world. This is due to the very unique Checkerboard approach, which gives the pilot flying the approach visual guidance towards the airport and the final turn to Runway 20. Once the pilot has committed to land his aircraft on Runway 20, there is no possibility of performing a go-around due to the steep terrain surrounding the airport, particularly the high rise in terrain elevation at the end of Runway 20. This makes the approach into Tioman Airport inherently dangerous!

Warsaw-Radom Airport (officially Port Lotniczy Warszawa-Radom im. Bohaterów Radomskiego Czerwca 1976 Roku) (IATA: RDO, ICAO: EPRA) is a modern joint civil-military international airport in central Poland serving Radom and the wider Masovian region. Located in the Sadków district approximately 3-4 km east of Radom’s city centre, the airport occupies a strategic position roughly 90-100 km south of Warsaw, positioning it as both a regional gateway and a potential aviation relief option for Poland’s capital region. The airport operates a single 2,500 m runway (07/25) and modern passenger infrastructure designed for scheduled and charter operations.
The airfield’s history reaches back to the late 1920s and is rooted in training rather than commercial transport. The site was developed as an aviation facility during the early years of Poland’s independence, quickly becoming an important centre for flight instruction. During the 1930s, Sadków expanded within Poland’s aviation education system, focusing on preparing military pilots with hangars, workshops and training infrastructure rather than passenger-oriented buildings.
During the Second World War, the airfield was attacked in 1939 and later taken over by the Luftwaffe, serving as a base supporting operations on the Eastern Front. As the front shifted westward, the airport suffered repeated damage and was heavily degraded during the final stages of German withdrawal. Polish forces returned in 1945, and the airfield was gradually restored, continuing for decades as a training base for the Polish Air Force through the Cold War period.
From the late 20th century onward, Sadków gained wider public recognition through aviation events, culminating in the Radom Air Show, one of the best-known air shows in Poland. At the same time, local ambitions to introduce civilian passenger operations intensified, leading to the first attempt at a civil airport in the 2010s. Despite certification and initial services, the early civil chapter proved economically fragile and ended with bankruptcy in 2018.
A decisive turning point followed with a state-led redevelopment. From 2019 the airport underwent comprehensive reconstruction, including a new passenger terminal and major airfield upgrades, and reopened to scheduled passenger traffic in April 2023.
