The airport of Istrana, also known as the airport of Treviso-Istrana, named in memory of the pilot lieutenant Vittorio Bragadin, is a military airport located about 10 km west of Treviso. The approximate coordinates are 45°44 N 12°07 E. The airport is operated by the Italian Air Force and carries out exclusively military activities, not being open to commercial traffic.
The main runway has a length of about 2,600 meters, enough to accommodate large military aircraft.
The airport is home to the 51st Stormo of the Italian Air Force; it is known for being one of the main departments dedicated to combat and support aircraft. Its history goes back several decades, and over the years it has played important roles in defence and national security operations.
