Long Beach offers a distinctive open-air boarding areas that embrace the regions year round sunshine. the airport handles a mix of domestic leisure flights operated by airlines such as Southwest, Delta, and Alaskan as well as business traffic in a relaxed, resort-like atmosphere. The airport also features a small cargo operation, mostly flown by UPS.
Although Long Beach has a long runway, a displaced threshold makes this a challenging approach.
